I have to admit this is a super article. Believe it or not, to whomever you believe in, it is done by the love you have for yourself. Do not kid yourself. You are more important to everything in your life then you may realize.
How you see yourself makes all the difference in how you relate to others, including family. We must have the proper self love for our selves before we can love or relate to others. If one is a racist, how much love do you think they have for themselves? How can anyone that hates other due to race? Why hate in the first place?
Love is the key to all aspects of life. With love one can tolerate another. Spite who they are, what they believe, and all the rest, the love a person has from within allows them to tolerate any indifferences. The sad thing about any organized religion, they love the least. They are too much into getting others to believe and think as they do. It does not matter if someone thinks or believes differently then you do. If you really get to know yourself, you would not want another you in the world.
I strongly believe that the ratio of the number of people on the Earth to the number of faith/religion or whatever you want to call it is 1:1. Everyone does not believe the same way because everyone is different in their own way. To insult someone because they are different is to insult yourself. Believe it or not, we change. How we thought as a child is different as we think as an adult. What we like and dislike changes over the years. Everyone changes many times during their life time.
